We’re all guilty of it. We shop for family members or friends and end up putting more items in the cart for ourselves than the intended recipients’ names. Sometimes we even cover up this activity, wrapping the gifts we picked out for ourselves, just so we can open them and feel excited about the gift a few days or weeks later.

As you make those final shopping excursions, looking for a few more items for Santa to put under the tree, here are a few suggestions of items you might want to consider for yourself…

  • A positive attitude.
  • A few new listings to start the year with inventory and opportunities for open houses.
  • A fresh dose of confidence so you never have to waver when it comes to showing your value.
  • Coaching from a broker, manager, co-worker, or specialty business coach.
  • A little more market knowledge to enhance your ability to present values and negotiate offers effectively.
  • Find additional training opportunities offered by your broker, branch office, or local board. They could be in-person workshops, online webinars, or destination classes you could attend to sharpen your knowledge and #BecomeBetter.
  • A CRM you’ll actually use.
  • New podcast subscriptions to deliver information or inspiration.
  • A few boxes of stationery, monogrammed letterhead, or blank greeting cards for the handwritten notes you plan to send in the new year.
  • A moment to yourself. We all could benefit from some quiet time that can be used to meditate, plan our day, or simply catch our breath.
  • Appreciation for the ability to serve as the consultant, guide, and advocate for our clients.
  • Trust that our clients will come back to us for future needs and refer their family, friends, and acquaintances who might also need our help.
  • Hope that tomorrow will be a great day.
  • Belief that today will be, too.

I wish you many new relationships to build, fewer problems to solve, and more fun in the year ahead.

Enjoy your Christmas or Hanukkah.
