It was a fun weekend in Austin, even though our team lost the game. Sure, those three hours watching the Florida Gators struggle to compete with the Texas Longhorns weren’t what we were hoping for when we booked the trip, but the game was more of a “reason” to get together.

Texas, along with Oklahoma, is new to the Southeastern Conference, so it was Florida’s first time playing in Darrell K Royal Stadium. This made it an easy pick for our annual “road trip” to reconnect, relive old stories, and relax.

We caught up on each other’s lives, careers, and families, and had lots of talk about our futures. We laughed a lot. We enjoyed the sights and sounds of Austin, which was a fabulous host and a place we will return to the next time the Gators play at Texas.

Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family;
Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one.

Jane Howard

Who’s part of your tribe?

Who do you network with?

How deep are your family connections?

Whether it’s your work connections, a community group you regularly engage with, a cohort of people with similar interests, or your true blood family, it’s always a boost to the head and the heart when you can rekindle those relationships.

Treasure those opportunities to gather. Take time to remember how good it is to know you have people in your world who care about you and want to see you succeed.
