It’s been a tough season so far for a few college football fan bases, including my Alma mater, The Florida Gators. Even though we are just 3 weeks into the new year, fans are clamoring for coaches to be fired and big changes to be made.

It’s funny how spoiled fans can become once you have tasted greatness. Schools like Florida, Florida State, Auburn, LSU, and Michigan have all won National Championships in the last 16 years but aren’t off to the best of starts this season. I think most of those fan bases know they probably have more losses coming and will already need to start looking ahead to next year.

As someone who became a Florida fan more than a decade before the school started racking up National Championships in all of the major sports, I remember living in the mediocrity and the journey we traveled to finally “win the big one.”

Now in today’s “what have you done for me lately”-world, everyone seems to feel entitled to win just because you have won in the past.

It’s pretty simple to see if you don’t maintain a level of excellence in all aspects of the “game”, you’re not going to stay on top forever. It takes the right people, the right attitude, the right focus on skills, tactics, strategies, and practices, and the best technologies.

And it also might involve a little good old-fashioned luck and being in the right place at the right time.

Turns out there are lots of people in the real estate industry that remember the “good old days” and wish they could return just because…well, they wish they could return.

Many people long for the…

  • Hot markets
  • Multiple offers
  • Low interest rates
  • Sales before the yard sign even hit the yard
  • Low days on the market
  • Objection-free consultations
  • Recruiting bonuses just for showing up
  • Buyer Representation to go back to the way it was before

The seasons not over. There’s still a lot of time left on the clock. You can’t go back and win last week’s games but you can start preparing for next week’s game and the one after that and the one after that.

Who knows? Your next “glory days” might be coming as early as next week.
