We take the machines for granted these days. They’re everywhere; gas stations, airports, bars, and grocery stores. We can walk right up to one or sit in our cars and drive through a bank parking lot and use them 24/7.

All you need is a PIN (and a balance in your account) and you’re gonna leave with money in your hand.

The first automated teller machine in the United States was installed in Rockville Center, New York on this date in 1969 and ever since, cold hard cash has been available just by knowing four digits in the right order.

Sure, you can get money in other ways. You can cash a check, get “cash back” at the grocery store, or make a withdrawal from your local teller. Luckily for today’s lazy consumer, the easy access of the ATM has made it easier to simply remember a number as short as a street address and even shorter than a zip code, and you’re gonna be able to put some crisp new bills in your wallet or purse.

Can You Win with a PIN?

What’s your “easy to remember code” for people to use when they need your help?

“Do you encourage clients to call or text when they need help?”

“Is your email easy to find on your website and social media?”

“Do your social media messages include a clear call to action?”

Just imagine if you made it as easy for people to think of you when they or someone they know has a real estate need as remembering a PIN.

Website? Social handle? E-mail address? Mobile number? Tagline or jingle? Do people know which brand or brokerage you work for?

I’ve never had a problem remembering my PIN and every time I need to use it, I get money.

Now imagine others remembering and using your “PINformation” and you just might have the same results.
