I had the privilege of speaking at the Florida Realtors Conference in Orlando last week. I delivered two fun sessions and the energy and excitement in the room were palpable.

After months and months of listening to experts and peers talk about the NAR Settlement and all the changes the real estate industry was facing, it was fun to deliver two sessions that had nothing to do with new forms and documents, legalese, what you can say, who can do what, or what might go wrong.

It was just two hours reminding people that success is right there in front of us if we’re willing to look for it. If we’re willing to do the work to achieve it. If we work hard to build a strong community of people who just might help support us in our journey.

That next opportunity could show up tomorrow. It could be next week or next month. It might not appear until next year. But if you keep showing up, it will appear.

What’s for Lunch?

You want a really tasty lunch? Make a grilled cheese sandwich.

Maybe add a bowl of tomato soup if you want? Feel free to add in some saltine crackers, if you’re feeling feisty.

How about 4 or 5 Oreo cookies for dessert?

Simple enough, huh?

Easy Does It

After one of my sessions, an attendee came up to thank me for a fun class. I thanked her for being there, not just at my session, but the conference in general. Here she was, along with close to 4,000 or more of her fellow Realtors from across the Sunshine State, investing in herself while spending time and money to be away from her family and her business, in an effort to become better.

“Was there one specific idea or story that I shared that you’re going to take away with you and implement into your business?”

She smiled and said, “You made the easy seem easy.”

I gave her a high five and winked. Build relationships, solve problems, and have fun.

That’s it, right there.

Simple activities that lead to conversations. Conversations that might lead to appointments. Appointments that could lead to new clients…that might lead to a sale…that might result in a closing…that might earn repeat and referral opportunities.

It’s about attitude.

It’s about looking for people doing amazing things and then trying to be amazing yourself. People will notice.

It’s about beginning with the end in mind.

It’s about developing a great reputation and earning the top-of-mind awareness from your customers, clients, and community that will make you the best choice.

It’s about time.

You grab the Oreos. I’ll pour the milk.
