Merry Christmas!
Today’s pretty much the last day to listen to and enjoy the traditional Christmas Carols we hear on the radio, in stores, and on our music-listening apps. Sure, you can listen to Christmas music year-round if you want but that just might make loved ones worry about you.
This year I kept an open mind when Christmas songs came on the radio or I heard them out in public. Normally I would quickly reach to change the channel unless it was one of my 3 or 4 favorite Christmas songs – Do They Know It’s Christmas by Band Aid, Christmas All Over Again by Tom Petty, Father Christmas by The Kinks, and Please Come Home for Christmas from the Eagles.
There’s just something about being in the real estate industry that makes you hear the traditional Christmas carols a little different…
What would we all give for a “Silent Night” of no phone calls or text messages coming in from customers and clients?
The holiday staging hitting those new listings just right makes you want to sing “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas.”
When you hear “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” it’s hard not to wonder if he has a relocation package attached to his transfer…and is he bringing the elves and reindeer?
After a year of working hard and battling rising interest rates, low inventory, and multiple offers, “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” seems like pretty good advice. And ladies, brokers, managers, affiliates, and anyone else who needs the holiday CTRL-ALT-DELETE to reset for a busy new year.
Salespeople never like to hear “The First No(el)” but learning to overcome rejection and hearing “No, “No thanks,” “I’m not interested,” or “Sorry, we already have an agent.” We all could get better at our sales presentations and messages in the new year.
Got a new listing? Has your Buyer’s offer been accepted? Just earn a referral? Go ahead and sing “Joy to the World” at the top of your lungs.
“Do You Hear What I Hear?” Sounds like rates might be dropping in the new year.
“O’ Come All Ye Faithful” to more training sessions, roundtables, office meetings, company events, and industry conferences in 2024 if you want to become better.
When your client tells you they are going to share your name with everyone they know who might need real estate help, simply smile and sing “Go Tell It On the Mountain.”
What’s that your lender partner is singing? “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear”…to Close?
“Hark the Herald Angel Sings”…or is that “signs”? Any good Realtor loves getting something signed every day. A new listing, a buyer representation agreement, a contract, a price reduction, or a closing statement. How about a commission check? Hark! That would make me sing!
“I Saw Three Ships” could mean the best ‘ships of all; Friendships, Partnerships, and Relationships.
Whether you are “Away in a Manger” or celebrating “Christmas in Hollis”, be it a “White Christmas” or a “Blue Christmas”…
I hope you enjoy a “Wonderful Christmastime” with family and friends.
