This week, many of the top agents and team leaders from my company will be heading to Cancun. It’s a reward for being part of The Presidents Club which represents the top 10% of the associates in our company. It’s all based on their hard work and results from last year. I’m very proud of all of them but especially proud of the agents and teams that I coach.

It’s safe to say that everyone who was invited earned it.

This week, hundreds of thousands of people in and around the real estate industry will meet with customers and clients. They’ll negotiate contracts, counter offers, and addendums. They will discuss pricing strategies and marketing ideas. They’ll provide guidance and advice, and help people make good decisions. They will be able to do these things because people trust them.

It’s safe to say these people have this trust because they earned it.

Thousands of people in and around the real estate industry will host a meeting, a training session, a class, or a course. People will show up to listen and learn something that will help make them better advisors, consultants, and guides for their customers, clients, and communities. These people will show up because they respect the leader, manager, broker, or mentor.

It’s safe to say people respect these leaders because they earned it.

How will you get more opportunities this week? How will you develop more top-of-mind awareness? What can you do to generate a referral to help a client or make your phone ring from a client because they need your help?

Just sitting back and waiting for something to happen probably isn’t the wisest choice.

It’s safe to say, you’re going to have to earn it.
