52 years ago this week, John Lennon released one of the most iconic songs ever recorded. His song “Imagine” still causes those who hear it to act out the word’s definition; “To form a mental image of something not present”

What mental images come to your mind when you hear the song?

Peace?

Happiness?

Joy?

Possibility?

Imagine there’s no heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us, only sky

I is for Impact. Our words, our thoughts, and most importantly, our actions can have a tremendous impact on our customers, clients, co-workers, and community. What can you do today that could make someone or something better than it was yesterday?

Imagine all the people
Livin’ for today

M is for Motivation. We all have to find the reason(s) why we do what we do and then be willing to get down on our knees to kindle that pilot light that will help us ignite the possibilities that lie ahead. Sometimes we need to see it in our mind’s eye before we can begin to make it happen in real life.

Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too

A is for Appreciation. Enjoy the good qualities that we encounter in our careers and lives. Keeping a healthy perspective on life and being humbled by the opportunity to be a guide in our client’s journey is a great way to make sure that “thanks giving” is more than a day in November.

Imagine all the people
Livin’ life in peace
You

G is for Growth. Remember what Andy Rooney once said; “Everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you’re climbing it.”

You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as one

I is for Inspiration. It comes from sources like books, music, movies, or people. It could come from quiet prayer or an external environment Who are you surrounding yourself with to mentally stimulate positive vibes and encouragement?

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man

N is for Now. Learning from the past is smart, but living in the past isn’t. Ideas must be executed to have any possibility of improvement or achieving success. “Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.” — Buddha

Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world
You

E is for Empathy. If you’re going to succeed in a business built on relationships, then having the ability to understand and share the feelings of another person is critical.

You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will live as one
