I’m not one of those people who hate Mondays. In fact, I look forward to them. Whether it’s after a busy weekend or a laid-back, relaxing few days at the end of the week, it’s always exciting to start fresh on Monday morning.

Sometimes, though, it seems like if something isn’t going to work as expected, it will probably happen on a Monday. For instance, this blog. For the last few weeks, my Monday Morning Match has become a Tuesday Afternoon Match, which doesn’t have nearly the awesome alliteration at the advent of a new week.

There has been some sort of programming glitch between WordPress (where I create the blog), Bluehost (my hosting service), and MailChimp (my marketing automation platform that distributes this blog to your Inbox). Some weeks it is delivered as expected on Monday but lately, it’s been delayed until Tuesday. I’m guessing it’s not a big deal for you and the rest of my loyal readers but the whole point of the Monday Morning Match is to deliver a spark of inspiration, an idea, or simply a message to ignite your week and help you get off to a good start. I think it’s weird for the Monday Morning Match to arrive in your Inbox on a Tuesday. Wouldn’t it be weird to hear, “Live from New York, it’s Monday afternoon!!!”?

I hear from some of you that you use it in your weekly office meetings or team huddles. Others read it quickly on their mobile devices while exercising or readying for the week. Some of you sadly hit “delete” without reading it and crush a small little part of my soul…but if that’s you, you’re not even reading this and will never know the potential sadness you create with your simple swipe left or left-click on the trash can icon.

There’s an old saying “If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em,” so until further notice, the Monday Morning Match will be renamed “The Morning Match.” That way, whenever the Tech Gods that work at WordPress, BlueHost, or MailChimp decide to transmit, it’ll be appropriately named. Unless you’re one of those readers that clicks on the blog after 12:01 pm local time. Maybe I should just call it “The Match,” huh?

Maybe this post alone will inspire you to get ready for Mondays, even if the results don’t show up until Tuesday…or Wednesday…or next week, next month, or next year. What you do today (or don’t do) will certainly have an impact on your future.

Plan out your week.

Get your phone calls, emails, handwritten notes, and social touches made.

Create content that will fill your marketing calendar.

Schedule some face-to-face meetings with clients or potential clients. Breakfasts, coffees, lunches, or happy hours.

What are you waiting for? Get it done today because if you wait until tomorrow, you’re that much closer to the weekend and who wants to worry about Monday over the weekend?
