Things can work out in your favor because of preparation, hard work, skill, the right words, or a combination of all of the above.
Sometimes you were just in the right place at the right time.
- The car in front of you buys your coffee.
- Seeing a rainbow.
- When someone just got some good news and they are buying a round of drinks for everyone.
- When someone needs a hand and both of yours are empty.
- When you’re hands are full and someone is there to get the door for you.
- If someone needs directions and you know exactly where they are going.
- When you need a parking spot and someone is just pulling out.
- Those rare moments when you run into someone famous.
- You’re in a long line at a store and suddenly, they open another cash register.
- Your luggage randomly comes out first at baggage claim.
You don’t always know when those moments will happen but if you keep showing up, you’ll certainly increase your chances of them happening. If you keep making phone calls, sending notes, or doing activities that could earn you top-of-mind awareness, it just might end up being “the right time.”
You never know where the “place” will be but there’s always a time for building relationships, solving problems, and having fun.
See if you can find that magical intersection this week.
