Whether it’s a job, a relationship, or just something inanimate, seeking separation from something that might be keeping you from being your best just might make sense.
You don’t need to make it a hostile workplace, hurt any feelings, or be ashamed. Simply close out the current chapter and start writing a new one. Agree to disagree. Start forging a new path.
Stop reading, listening, or watching the news.
Filter your social media intake to something that educates, motivates, or perpetuates the world you want to be a part of.
Eliminate negativity from your daily routine. Remember…
Avoid gossip. There’s an old Spanish proverb that says, “People who gossip to you will gossip about you.”
Beware of outdated tactics. If you find yourself saying, “but this has always worked,” perhaps it’s time to try something new.
Stop being stubborn. If you find yourself saying, “but this has always worked,” perhaps it’s time to try something new.
Hyper-aggressive sales techniques only usually work for people who believe in that style of sales. If you’re not into door-knocking or cold calling, perhaps focusing on building your business one conversation at a time might be a better approach.
The more you focus on separating yourself from the things that don’t make you happy, better, or more fulfilled, you will eventually find that you’re that much closer to being where…and who you want to be.
