It all started innocently enough. I had to do a few chores around the house this weekend. These were things that involved a trip to the hardware store to get some pieces and parts to accomplish the various tasks on my “Honey-Do” list. If you’re a homeowner, I’m sure you know where this is going, don’t you?
It seems that any trip to the hardware store is almost certainly going to require a second trip to the hardware store. No matter how much you plan, it never seems to be possible to get something right on the first try.

It’s really not much different in today’s real estate market, is it? Sometimes our meetings with Sellers require a two-step process. The first visit is to meet the Sellers and view the property so you can prepare a detailed market analysis and the second visit is when you present your marketing and pricing strategy and get the paperwork completed. When representing buyers these days, can we really expect to secure a contract on their first offer? Not very likely. We might have to revive the search, head back to see new properties, and write a few more offers before anything comes together.
Every day we need to be following up on yesterday’s leads, going back to those For Sale By Owners to see if they might be ready to let a professional take over yet, and making just one more phone call, sending just one more email, or knocking on just one more door.
Stay positive and keep going back.
Again and again and again…
Until it fits just right…and you can check it off your “honey-do” list.
