The clocks have been rolled back. Daylight Savings Time ended this weekend and now most of America is having to relearn how to wake up when it’s dark and drive home from work when it’s dark. Shorter days and longer nights are what we get…but people try to spin it as a positive saying “at least we get an extra hour of sleep!”

But what could you do if you actually DID have an extra hour each day?

You could…

…”fall back” into some of your better habits and routines.

…send a few more hand-written notes each morning.

…spend a few minutes each day in meditation, gratitude, or journaling your thoughts.

…get out for a short walk to get the blood flowing and get focused on your day ahead.

…scroll through your inbox and identify items that require a response, a reaction, or a quick rejection (DELETE).

…prepare for the necessary client follow-up you’ll need to do later today. What new listings have hit the market? Any price changes? Pendings? Sales?

…open up the ol’ CRM and see who’s names are on the dashboard for contact this week.

…send a few text messages, just saying “hello” and realize that every little touch could create a ripple effect that helps your name move to the top of someone’s mind.

…create another draft of your Business Plan for the new year, sharpening everything about it so you have a good vision and understanding of what actions you will need to take each day.

…meet up with a client for a quick breakfast or cup of coffee.

…sleep in a little longer and rest up for a great day of building relationships, solving problems, and having fun.

You don’t have to like the changing of the clocks, but remember, you didn’t lose anything. You still have the same amount of time as everyone else.

How you choose to use it is up to you.
