Sometimes we overthink things.
Sometimes we try to do too much.
Sometimes we do things just to do things because it feels better to be doing something than it feels to not be doing anything.
Early in the week, we know what we should do that will help get us closer to our goals. In the middle of the week, we start to stress out because we still have so much to do. When the end of the week nears, we either shift into another gear and get stuff done or we tell ourselves that the stuff we didn’t get done can be pushed to next week or we justify that it didn’t really need to be done anyway.
But each day we have a chance to remind ourselves that doing “the basics” works. That if we just get up, show up, and do the work, we will be that much closer to success. We need to put seeds in the ground and be patient, knowing the seeds will come to harvest tomorrow, next week, next month, or next year.
Every day you wake up and get ready for another opportunity to build relationships, solve problems, and have fun, look no further than the motivational message you see each morning in the shower.
It’s prominently displayed on the back of each shampoo bottle.
