It’s a cold open we’ve come to know so well; “Live from New York…It’s Saturday Night!
46 years ago today (October 11, 1975), a cast of comedians and actors have taken the stage in Studio 8H in New York City and entertained both a live studio audience and also a worldwide audience on NBC. Comedian George Carlin was the first guest host on that show and since that night, there have been 910 more episodes of this classic show.
Whether you’re a fan of Saturday Night Live or not, there are probably not many people who haven’t heard of some of the most famous comedians to ever appear as a cast member on the show over the years such as John Belushi, Gilda Radner, Eddie Murphy, Chris Farley, Norm MacDonald, Will Ferrell, Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey, Amy Pohler, Kristin Wigg and many more.
Who is your favorite cast member? What about the guest host? Musical guest?
Will you be memorable next time you go “live”?
Each day Realtors get the cue to go “live” in their business…and they don’t need to wait until Saturday night to do it. They need to show up “live” in their offices and the local community. They need to be there – “live” for their buyers and sellers. They need to make every effort they can to keep in touch with current clients, former clients, and potential clients.
Just like the actors on SNL, they should be spending time each day rehearsing scripts and dialogues so when the lights go on, they know exactly what to say.
Of course, Realtors need to dress the part, always looking professional for the clients and services they are engaging in each day. They want to be as memorable as some of the best skits we’ve enjoyed over the years.
So get in the writer’s room this week and put together some actions that you think will earn a great reception from your audience.
Connect with your peers and see who you need to get to be a guest in your business that just might earn some added attention and interest from those people who might be “just looking.”
Put together a playlist of some of your favorite musical acts from the show and get ready to use that as a soundtrack to a successful week.
And just get ready to build relationships, solve problems, and have fun because “It’s gonna be a great show.”
