We’ve all got them.

Some of us have a few.

Sometimes we have to travel to get to them, and other times, they might be right in our own backyards. That’s right, they might literally be in our own backyards.

Do you have a “happy place”?

Some people can get to their happy place just by shutting their eyes. Memories. Visions. Dreams.

What does your happy place look like? Sound like? Feel like? Smell like?

Does your happy place seem happier when other people (or pets) are around…or is it better when it’s just you?

Your happy place could be when you’re moving (like a bike or running) or it could be when you’re sitting perfectly still. It could be while you’re in a boat sitting perfectly still on a quiet lake, or perhaps sitting still along a quietly flowing stream or river?

It could be very loud like a rock concert or at a sporting event, amidst the subtle din of crickets or the hypnotic lapping of waves on the shore. Perhaps just sitting in peaceful meditation is your happy place.

Maybe the reason why you work so hard is to get to that happy place…or maybe that happy place is the reason you work so hard. It fuels you with energy, passion, and meaning.

What can you do right now, today, or this week that will get you a little bit closer to your happy place?

We’ve all got them. We just need to make a point to visit them more often.

When you feel your tank needs a little fuel, it’ll be smart to visit that filling station for your soul.
