On this date 32 years ago (June 7th, 1989) everything was in order. For exactly one second, it was 1:23:45 on 6/7/89. For numerologists, this must have been some sort of nirvana but even for the rest of us, it’s kind of cool to think of everything lining up perfectly, even if just for a second.

In sales, we are always hoping for things to happen in some systematic fashion. We try to make sure multiple transactions can close on time, ensuring the next deal in the chain will happen as well. It might happen when our purchase offer just happens to be exactly what the Sellers were hoping for. Or how about when you and the Sellers hit it off like long lost friends at a listing appointment and you just know it’s going to be a good transaction.

Nervous about the inspections but the radon levels come back at 3.9?

Running late for a showing appointment and the buyer texts to say they will be about 15 minutes late?

Cold calling or door knocking and the homeowner says, “Well, actually yes. I am thinking of selling my home”?

One thing that is certainly true about real estate is you never truly know where your next opportunity might come from. It could be a former client calling to let you know they’ve been transferred and need to sell. It might be one of your close friends letting you in on the secret that they are having another baby and want to build a bigger house. It could be the person at the gas station pump next to yours that sees your brokerage name tag or logo on your sweater. Maybe that “unknown caller” might turn out to be a legitimate customer who needs your help.

Just give yourself plenty of opportunities to be in the right place at the right time this week and, who knows…things just might line up perfectly for you.
