It’s like the first tee time on a Saturday morning. You show up to the course early, practice your putting for a few minutes, and then head to the range. Hopefully, you have a good warm-up session and then you head to the first tee with dreams of your best round ever running through your head.

Or meeting an old friend for happy hour, ready to replay some of the greatest moments and stories from days-gone-by.

Seeing the Amazon driver pull up in front of the house and wondering what she might be delivering that day.

It’s the way your dog starts looking at her dog dish right before dinnertime, then sees you walking towards the food storage to deliver her next meal.

Waking up early on a day you’re leaving for a vacation…

Standing in the airport terminal for a long lost loved one to pass through security for that long awaited hug…

The smell in the air on a college football Saturday morning.

What will you get excited about this week?

Will it be this morning when you make your important lead generation contacts? Will you eagerly write your hand-written notes, send birthday greetings with enthusiasm, engage with people purposefully on social media, or make genuine eye contact with your coffee shop barista or gym trainer?

Is it that client you’re meeting for the first time, ready to tackle the challenging market?

Remember that home inspection your client scheduled? Can you show up with a smile and a supportive frame of mind to help them understand the findings and determine how best to move forward?

That 3-hour CE class you signed up for? Are you just going to sit your body in the chair and collect your credits or will you open your ears and your mind and possibly learn something that could help you or your future clientele?

Should you begin planning that client appreciation event you’ve been thinking about for a year now, wondering when it’ll be the right time to get back together with people?

Could you possibly make someone’s day with a personal phone call to say “hello” or pop-by and see how someone is doing?

Will you look at the things on this week’s “To-Do List” as obligations or opportunities? Instead of saying “I have to (do something)”, say “I get to (do something).”

Aren’t you excited about building relationships, solving problems, and having fun this week?

I know I am.
