I just finished preparing a test for an upcoming class I’ll be doing in Oklahoma. After 7+ hours of class time, the attendees are required to take test.

I guess it’s to show that they learned something…or would that only prove they were able to remember something they heard? Tests don’t really mean you learned something, they just show whether you remembered anything.

The only way you’d know if they truly learned something would be if they put it into action after the class. It could be a new technique, dialogue, or approach to their business. A new tool, app, or website that could give more or different opportunities. Perhaps they have been doing things properly all along but the ideas, information, and inspiration from the class will have them doing more of those things. Or doing them more effectively? Or more efficiently?

If you think about it, every day is a class. There are things to watch, learn, and do. The classroom is vast and always open. The teachers are everywhere.

Your homework is assigned every day but don’t worry about studying. You already know what the assignment is; Build relationships, solve problems, and have fun.

I’ll see you in class.
