We are just a few days away from Christmas. Decades ago, this was probably one of the most exciting weeks of your life. Heck, for some of you, it still is. Filled with magic, dreaming, and opportunities to make people happy, it’s a week that is all about belief and hope.
This year with the pandemic in full swing, families will not gather like they might have in the past, but the feelings of togetherness could still be felt over virtual celebrations, video chats or virtual gatherings. However you celebrate the holidays, may it be joyous and safe.
Many of us have some last-minute shopping to do while others are just getting started. Some do their shopping and wrapping throughout the year while plenty of people love the thrill of working on the magic right up until midnight (or later) on Christmas Eve. Perhaps more than a few of you are on a first-name basis with your Amazon driver, aren’t you?
Whichever protocol you practice, there’s still time to add a few “Please, Santa” items to your list…
- Some new listings in a fast-inventory market?
- Buyers who have no contingencies and a hefty down-payment?
- A little more organization for your business?
- A day off with no phone calls, urgent texts, or emails with ALL CAP SUBJECT lines
- New followers on social media that aren’t spammers, scammers, or bots.
- Your name to pop into more people’s “top of mind” in the new year. “Hey, you know who you should call for your real estate needs?”
- Your favorite lender, title company, and attorney to hire a few amazing underwriters, processors, escrow officers, assistants, and staff members that believe in the power of teamwork to make everyone’s job easier.
- A new podcast to get hooked on, a CE class that inspires you into action, and a book that you absolutely can’t put down
- More phone calls that start with, “Hi, I got your name from (insert former client) and he/she said I needed to call you to help me with my real estate needs.“
- Every co-op agent you work with to be responsive, professional, and fun.
- An office full of fellow associates that you love to work with.
- A manager, broker, or owner that serves as a teacher, coach, leader, or mentor…or all of the above.
- Family and friends who continue to support and encourage you to be your best.
- And maybe a few more opportunities to build relationships, solve problems, and have fun.
I know that last one is always on my list.
What’s on your list this year from Santa?
