Monday Morning Match is a simple post – maybe a quote, inspirational story or idea – intended to spark some motivation inside each of you so your week gets off to a fantastic start on Monday morning.
Have you ever questioned a decision or choice you made? If you’re like most people, you certainly have had serious thoughts after the fact about something you did, said, or acted on. In sales, there is a term for it; Buyer’s Remorse.
The excitement of the decision sometimes doesn’t feel as exciting after the adrenaline-fueled moment when you win the bid, make the sale, or give your credit card number to the “operators standing by.”
What’s Your Perspective?
Which side are you on? “Yes! I am so excited I made this commitment” or “Oh my God, what have I done?”
Are you thinking positive and looking at all of the benefits and enjoyment your decision will bring you? Or has the voice of Negative Ned started talking to you? “You can’t afford it”…”it probably won’t even do what you think it will do”…”you’re not gonna like it…just like the last big idea you thought was so smart the last time.”
Is the decision in your best interests, or beneficial to someone on your team, company, or cause? Is it something that can easily be returned, corrected or changed after the fact if necessary?
If you are having second thoughts, take a moment to evaluate your situation. Seek guidance from a mentor or professional and consider all the pros and cons of your decision. There’s nothing wrong with changing your mind but you might not be able to change your choice once it’s been made.
One great choice you can make this week is to focus on building relationships, solving problems and having fun. That’s something you won’t have second thoughts about.
And remember, your first choice is almost always your best choice.
