Monday Morning Match is a simple post – maybe a quote, inspirational story or idea – intended to spark some motivation inside each of you so your week gets off to a fantastic start on Monday morning.
As the National Hockey League season resumes after their COVID-induced break, the teams are jumping right back into a playoff atmosphere. Never mind that they haven’t played a meaningful game since early March, they are now playing for their opportunities to advance in the Stanley Cup playoffs. Winning hockey’s championship “cup” has always been considered the hardest championship in sports to win but this year it might be one of the toughest challenges yet – taking almost 4 months off and trying to compete for one of the greatest trophies in all of sport.
What happens when you mix tons on uncertainty, heavy expectations on a daily basis, a new environment, and the pressure of winning or possibly being done playing until next season?
I’m not sure how the hockey players will react to it, but I do know that real estate agents do this almost every day…even before the COVID pandemic arrived. Every day most of the 1.4 million members of the National Association of REALTORS wake up unemployed, seeking their next opportunity with buyers, sellers, renters, or investors. They battle uncertainty, heavy expectations (from themselves and their loved ones), an always-changing environment, and possibly being done until next season…which, in all seriousness is tomorrow.
Whether you’re skating in the NHL or seeking to help buyers and sellers in today’s real estate market, you better sharpen your skates and be ready to go. Just keep building relationships, solving problems, and having fun and learn from the best of the best in the NHL…
Staying focused on the goals at the end is always a good approach.
