Monday Morning Match is a simple post – maybe a quote, inspirational story or idea – intended to spark some motivation inside each of you so your week gets off to a fantastic start on Monday morning.
Knowledge is Power
“As your body grows bigger, your mind must flower. It’s great to learn because knowledge is power”
Opening Theme – Schoolhouse Rock!
It was 47 years ago today (January 6, 1973) that Schoolhouse Rock! made its debut on television. According to Wikipedia, “Schoolhouse Rock! is an American interstitial programming series of animated musical educational short films that aired during the Saturday morning children’s programming block on the U.S. television network ABC. The topics covered included grammar, science, economics, history, mathematics, and civics.“
The first season was Multiplication Rock but was soon followed by Grammar Rock (including memorable episodes “Conjunction Junction” and “Lolly, Lolly, Lolly Get Your Adverbs Here“), Science Rock, and America Rock. It was during America Rock that many will recall the most memorable of all Schoolhouse Rock! episodes – “I’m Just a Bill” which details how a bill becomes a law in the US Government.
Are You Making It Easy for Your Clients?
As simple as Schoolhouse Rock! might seem to us know, many children learned the information contained in these short cartoons because they were broken down into easy to understand steps using animations, stories, and music. Realtors, Lenders, and Title representatives help their clients every single as they navigate through the real estate process so it seems simple to us but it’s important to remember that, according to the latest NAR Home Buyer and Seller Report, the consumer only goes through this process once every 10 years. That might mean that the consumers need to be educated on all the steps and details involved, what to expect along the way, and how they can help their representatives make it a smooth, successful transaction.
Do you utilize checklists for the home buying and home selling process? Do you have standard operating processes and procedures for pre-sale, in contract, and after-sale follow up with clients? How about your office or local association requirements to make sure you’re staying compliant and fulfilling your fiduciary duties to your clients?
Whether you’re a brand new agent or a multi-year experienced Realtor, lender, or title rep, you know that consistency in your systems will allow for greater confidence and competence. When you can continually blend those three “C’s” together, you will earn more trust. Trust that will turn into repeat and referral business.
Almost Time to Celebrate
Before we will ever have a chance to negotiate, it’s important that we create value for our clients. We do that when we educate them on the current market and how to best position themselves to be the best Buyer or Seller on the market. If we can help them successfully navigate everything involved, we will increase our chances to celebrate with them in no time.
Christmas Break is over. It’s time to start building relationships, solving problems and having fun and get back to school…except this time, we are the teachers.
