Monday Morning Match is a simple post – maybe a quote, inspirational story or idea – intended to spark some motivation inside each of you so your week gets off to a fantastic start on Monday morning.
This past weekend the 2019 College Football season kicked off. The headliner game featured the 8th ranked Florida Gators vs. the unranked Miami Hurricanes. The game was played in a neutral site, somewhat close to the middle point between the two respective schools in Gainesville and Coral Gables. While the schools don’t play every year, the match-up creates a bitter rivalry between the schools, the players, and the fan bases. There was much anticipation for this game and the schedule change to make it the spotlight game a week before the rest of college football officially kicks off meant that all eyes were on the Gators and Hurricanes.
While the game featured incredible athletes and top-notch coaches, it wasn’t a pretty game to watch. There were lots of penalties, lots of missed tackles, dropped passes, turnovers, and plenty of other miscues to leave both coaching staffs and fan bases scratching their head. While it’s just the first game and both teams have lots of room for improvement as the season continues, Florida was able to overcome their mistakes the best and secure a 24-20 victory. The cliche phrase being uttered by anyone who cheers for the Gators was “a win is a win” and although the game wasn’t an example of perfection, the fact that they won will soothe the sting of bad plays and imperfect execution.
What are the “wins” you might have ahead this week? It doesn’t need to be a huge win and it doesn’t have to be perfect. Sometimes you just need to keep things in perspective and find something positive that can move you that much closer to your goals.
Can you convert one follow up call, text, or email into an appointment? Remember…a win is a win.
The next open house you hold doesn’t have to be swarming with people. All it takes is one potential customer who is ready to buy or sell because remember…a win is a win.
Visiting that next FSBO or Expired listing probably won’t result in a listing today…but it might start the conversation that will continue into a viable opportunity. Remember…a win is a win.
Did you get a new follower on social media? Did someone retweet one of your posts? Did you connect with a Facebook friend this week that you haven’t talked with in a while? Will that next Instagram DM lead to a face-to-face meeting or referral? Remember…a win is a win.
The next meeting with a potential seller might not result in a new listing…
That next showing with a buyer might not result in a sale…
That next offer might not result in a contract…
That next contract might not result in a sale…
That next sale might not result in a referral…
But it might…and that would be a “win.”
