Monday Morning Match is a quick post – maybe a quote, inspirational story or idea – intended to spark some motivation inside each of you so your week gets off to a fantastic start on Monday morning.
Beginners Luck?
Think back to your first year in real estate. Were you nervous? Was there a lot of pressure on you to make sure it worked? Did you have lots of questions that you might have been afraid to ask, but never did?
Think back to your first year in real estate. Was it fun? Were there plenty of people cheering for you and offering support along the way? Did you competition treat you any differently or did you earn your successes through hard work, determination, and teamwork with your manager/broker, affiliates, and fellow associates?
Everyone remembers their rookie year in real estate. Some of us struggled, some of us did pretty well and some of us had amazing first years that would cause multi-year Realtors to be jealous. Based on statistics from NAR, a large majority of people who start a career in real estate are out of the business within their first two years.
Beginners Lady Luck?
The Las Vegas Golden Knights are enjoying one of the greatest “first-year seasons” in organized sports. The expansion team joined the NHL this season and will surprisingly be playing for The Stanley Cup. In other major sports, new teams have struggled to win in their first season. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers failed to win a game in this first season in the NFL back in 1976, going 0-14.
The Golden Knights won’t know their opponent in the Finals until the Eastern Conference Finals between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Washington Capitals concludes, but something tells me, they don’t really care who they play.
Are You Ready to Raise the Stakes?
Realtors, not just those in their rookie season, have a lot they can learn from this Las Vegas team like bringing your best effort every day, trusting the system, ignoring the doubters and believing in yourself. The Knights may not win it all but they have at least given themselves and their fans a chance.
Sometimes that is all you need in sports, sales, and life.
Jump out there this week like there’s something big on the line…because there is. Sharpen your blades, stay balanced, don’t be afraid to get physical, and keep focused on hitting your goals. That’s how you win in this game.
The three stars of this week? Build relationships, solve problems, and have fun.
