Monday Morning Match is a quick post – maybe a quote, inspirational story or idea – intended to spark some motivation inside each of you so your week gets off to a fantastic start on Monday morning.

It was nice that our daughter Riley’s Spring Break at the University of South Carolina matched up with Ryan’s high school Spring Break so we could enjoy a week together. We loaded the luggage, our golf clubs, and Callie the Puppy into the car and hit the road for Columbia before the sun was up. After swinging by campus to pick Riley up, we continued South through Georgia and on to the Sunshine State.

For some people, visiting the same place, year in and year out is there standard M.O. Maybe they own a timeshare and return every year or perhaps they visit family who lives in a warmer climate? It might be a “family tradition” to return to the same place and visit the same restaurants, shop in the same shops, and relax on the same beach. Let’s be honest, some people head for the ski slopes or travel to a big city so it’s not always sunshine and warmth that people are seeking on Spring Break.

It’s time to try something new.

“Newness” is a term we coined a few years ago on our family Spring Break. We decided we weren’t going to eat anywhere we had been in the past. At first the kids would complain when we headed to an establishment we hadn’t been to before but it turned out to be fun to discover new places and try new things.

This year, using a new service (AirBNB vs. VRBO), we found a new place to stay, in a city we’ve never been to before. We will find new restaurants. Ryan and I will discover some golf courses we’ve never played before. We might go see a Spring Training game in a stadium that would be new for us. I’ll certainly sample some new local craft beers.

There will be no real agenda. No time crunch. No hurries = no worries.

Are you ready to try something new?

When it comes to your business, there might be a lot of things that you do consistently. One of the quickest ways to achieve success is to create a consistent schedule and repeat the actions that produce positive results over and over again. Many of these things have worked for you for years…which is great. But it might be time to take a good look at your actions and see if they are delivering the results you want or need. Is there anything you need to start doing…or stop doing, to get increased or better results?

A new way to prospect for business? A new social channel? Creating that new website? Shooting a new video?

How about building some new relationships? Solving some old problems in new or creative ways? Having fun going to new places?

It’s time to try something new.
