The hotel wasn’t empty but there just weren’t many familiar faces left in the hallways.
The makeshift lobby on the Mezzanine was almost completely disassembled and the ballroom was being set up for the next group of convention attendees.
We were already seeing check-ins on the social networks from some of our friends who had left earlier in the day that they had made it safely home.
A great week with old friends and new relationships is what Inman Connect is to me. You come to learn, to laugh and to leverage the technologies and ideas shared throughout the week. You look forward to the event for months and then, just like that, host Brad Inman finishes sharing his final thoughts from the stage and says “Thanks for coming. That’s a wrap.”
And then it’s done.
The Load Out
As I watched the crew at the Hilton Union Square doing their tear down and taxi cabs and Uber cars pull away headed for the airport, I was reminded of this classic Jackson Browne song. Seems like the perfect song to have playing as the credits roll and the screen fades to black. (Click here if you don’t see the video)
Now it’s time to implement what we learned. It’s time to follow-up with those vendors, entrepreneurs and fellow practitioners that just might help us become better. It’s time to keep motivating and inspiring my fellow Ambassadors and all the people I’ve met over the last 9 Connects.
It’s time to start planning for Inman Connect New York in January.
As always, it’s time to build relationships, solve problems and have fun.
