Sometimes the most fulfilling meal is Mac & Cheese…or a peanut butter and jelly sandwich…or a basic bowl of corn flakes.
Ever been really thirsty and instead of choosing between Gatorade or Powerade you chose ice water? And it was awesome?
Tonight while walking back to my hotel through the Over the Rhine neighborhood of Cincinnati, I decided to stop for a beer. There are plenty of amazing choice in this neighborhood going through a rebirth like few areas in America but as I turned down 14th Street I saw a simple sign above an establishment.
BAR
I knew instantly what is was. I knew what they offered. I knew I was going to stop and enjoy a cold beer.
As I walked in I found a welcoming neighborhood bar that had several distinct rooms – a full-blown Gastro Pub featuring a neat menu, an open air patio area with TVs and casual seating and then the “Bar” – a simple exposed-brick room with 20′ ceilings and an amazing selection of local and craft beers from around the country.
I wasn’t looking for anything more than was advertised. The sign said “bar.” All I wanted was a bar. I got a bar but I got so much more. Amazing service from Jen & Cadence. A new spot to revisit when I visit Cincinnati. Another amazing place in OTR to tell others about.
