comfortable shoesI got a new pair of Adidas shoes a few months ago. They are the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned.

Think about that statement for a second. I am 47 years old. I have probably owned more than 150 pairs of shoes in my life yet these are the most comfortable? Yep. I truly feel that way. I wear them any time I can wear shoes. I wear them at work with khakis, suits or on casual days when I wear jeans. I seek reasons to wear them. I even wear them late in the evening when the rest of my family is in their pajamas.

“Why don’t you take off your shoes?” asks my wife.

“Because these are so comfortable,” I answer.

What’s your “comfort”?

When you’re “locked in,” what is it you’re doing? What is your “go to” situation or dialogue? Are you best when you are at open houses, on the telephone or sitting with a Seller presenting an offer? Do you feel the “words just come out right” when you are hanging out with friends or family in a casual setting or when you’re in front of potential clients at a social event or chatting in the back of church or school?

Where is your local establishment where you feel “on your game”? Do you have a specific time when you like to be in your office to feel like you’re making best use of your time? Home office, branch office…or Starbucks?

There is no “one way” to be successful. You’ve just got to find that comfortable spot that allows you to do the things that need to be done.

When you see the golf shot in your head, swing.

When you have the bullseye in focus, throw the dart.

If you see the clay pigeon in your mind, yell “pull.”

When you know the way, don’t consult the map.

Forget the script. Just say it from the heart.

Most of the time you’ll know it’s right because it just feels right.
