Do you have a kid at home? Or are you still a kid at heart?

If you answered “yes” to either question, please keep reading.

Many of us have a dream to build a successful business. When we first start out, we see all the positive aspects of success and rarely plan for all of the struggles and obstacles we might face. We plan to be rock stars, selling out big arenas and stadiums, never imagining that we could be the local warm-up acts at a smoke-filled night club or hotel lounge.

Each day we wake up and think to ourselves that this may be the day that it all clicks. Is today the day that all of the marketing starts to generate leads, all of the “lookers” actually become buyers and everything we say sounds like Shakespeare to an eleventh grade English teacher.

Yet at times it feels like we’re holding it together with 3 parts desperation, 2 parts hope and 1 part packing tape.

With a shout out to one of my favorite authors, bloggers and thought leaders, Seth Godin, do yourself a favor and watch this eleven minute video about a boy named Caine and his ability to “think outside of the boxes.”

Once you’re done watching, remind yourself about the dreams you had when the year started.

Now get out there and keep building relationships, solving problems and having fun.
