As a part of the real estate industry, have you ever stopped to think about what it means to truly be a professional? Do you consider yourself a practitioner who holds themselves to a higher standard and always puts the needs of others first?
Who do you think of when you think of a “true, real estate professional”? Does that person know that you hold him or her in such high regard?
Maybe this week, you could reach out to them and invite them to join you for breakfast or lunch. Or buy them a cup of coffee or a cold beer after work one day and see what you can learn from them about the way they approach their business. Who knows, maybe you have something that you can share with them. I’m guessing they didn’t become so successful without listening to people along the way.
What is the definition of a true real estate professional?
Last year I was asked by Michael McClure of Verified Professional Agent to record my thoughts on a few different topics concerning the real estate industry. Michael is one of the most respected and admired people in the real estate industry and is arguably one of the most respected voices in the social media space right now when it comes to real estate (along with people like Chris Smith, Matthew Shadbolt, Krisstina Wise and Jay Thompson… just to name a few) and I am honored to consider him a friend.
